Hello to all my friends and family, it is that time of year again. The day I officially turn one year older (and no I am not telling my age). I began a tradition last year of putting out my special birthday edition fairy. I thought it would be fitting for a Scorpio like myself to create a fairy riding a scorpion. Jaya is a strong willed personality, because you would have to be to have a scorpion as a pet. She embodies strength and courage, trials I try to carry daily. I hope you enjoy her as much as I have in creating her and her little pet.

The wind seemed to stand still as a figure shadowed the rocky hillside. The whole world seemed to take notice of the majestic figure. Size does not seem to matter if you have presence. Jaya sat upon her pet scorpion and surveyed the land laid out before her. She just exuded confidence without needing to utter a word. Jaya had powerful magic and she knew it. But, it wasn’t her magic or her little friend; it was the strong sense of right and wrong that she carried inside. Jaya keeps the balance of nature in check. It is her sworn duty to make sure that hunters do not out number prey and that the circle of life is kept in the delicate balance. Jaya; a force to be reckoned with and one that always wins.

Jaya, meaning victory, is another one-of-a-kind small sculpture and No. 59 from Krina Kreations. She is 4.5 inches to the tip of her head, 11 inches if she were standing. Jaya is made of polymer clay without the use of molds and each detail is hand crafted by Kris Hamrick. Jaya’s hair is hand dyed 100% natural mohair; each lock is carefully set to frame her face. The wings are removable and carefully designed. Jaya is hand painted and sealed with the clay slightly blushed. Her scorpion is all hand sculpted and is 6.5 from the base to the head. The fairy is not attached to the scorpion so both pieces may be displayed separately if desired. Each work from Krina Kreations comes with a certificate of authenticity including her story and the artist’s signature.
